Games I've Hosted Since Beginning This List

Since I started this list one year ago, I've hosted three games that I've really enjoyed. I won't insert them into the countdown since it's already so close to the end, but here are some brief descriptions of them.

Description:

Lights Out would probably be ranked very high on this countdown, because it enabled me to write creatively for the first time in a long while, and the cast had a lot of great role-players. For those of you who didn't see it in real time, Lights Out was a murder mystery RPG where one of the players was a Killer, who could only be defeated if a jury of past players correctly identified him or her in the final vote. The jury correctly identified Cel (Noah/Rebnik's real-life wife Laura, in her first FGC appearance) as the killer, meaning that Southern bellhop Russell and sour British groundskeeper Zoriana survived and won the game.

I could name standouts from this game, but it would take too long—the final nine were all great players, and each brought a different spark to the roleplaying and strategic element that made it a really great story to write, and hopefully to read. I definitely encourage you to check it out on Page 2 of Game Heaven if you haven't already—it was a blast.

Description:

Survival Skills 1 was my first foray into a no-immunity-challenge series focusing on social relationships and strategy, rather than mind-numbing competitions. I was very pleased with how it turned out, with a cast of interesting, dynamic, quick-thinking personalities. This game could have easily been a dud if people weren't willing to put in the social effort, but it was definitely not. It ended up with a very deserving Final Four and a hard-fought battle between two deserving finalists. It's also worth a read.

Description:

Like its predecessor, Survival Skills 1, this was a great game. Originally, it seemed as though a Pagonging of the original Trikora members was inevitable when they lost the first three challenges and then the tiebreaker at the final ten. However, Boo switched up the game and sided with Debb and Penny of Trikora, blindsiding his former allies, while Debb and Penny blindsided their former ally Sarita. Boo ended up taking Penny to the finals over Debb, who beat him 5-2, giving Penny/Druid78 his first win at FGC.

It was a very solid game strategically, and a few unpredictable boots really made it interesting. I don't have too much to reminisce about because the game just ended yesterday. It should be coming to Game Heaven soon, so check it out if you haven't already.

Now, back to the countdown.
