Christy, I’m sorry you were voted out of the game so early in the merge. At that point in the game, it was all about Jaburu vs. Tambaqui for sure (especially after the Ami vote) and there was really no way for anyone on Tambaqui to save themselves until a few rounds had past. The rivalry (at least on the Jaburu side) was too intense.
Move #1: Being open about wanting to go against Jaburu ever since the merge. This was something I decided by myself. I had talked to Shambo about it a little about turning on the Jaburus for at least a round or two because I was nervous about certain people having their egos inflated and running the game straight to the end. Shambo wasn’t too keen on rocking the boat, so I took it into my own hands to let it be known to the former Tambaqui members that I was looking for the opportunity to get the game off its predictable path. In spite of talking to you all about it, the Tambaqui members didn’t seem very united/ weren’t online together to get some definitive planning going on. But I think planting that seed for the Tambaquis really set the mood for my game well into the merge.
Move #2: Voting for JP at the Final 5. I knew Brad was not going to vote for JP at the Final 5 (why would he vote out his most trusted ally?), meaning it was pretty much set in stone that Shambo was leaving. It was up to me to decide if I wanted to go with them and just vote Shambo and not ruffle those feathers or if I wanted to stay true to myself and not write down Shambo’s name. In the end, I decided to keep my integrity in check because I really grew super close to Shambo. She had been the one I trusted the most ever since the Tribal phase of the game. I am my own person and I didn’t want to feel like JP and Brad were dictating to me what I should do. By this time, I felt like it was long overdue for JP to be voted off so if there was any glimmer of hope for he to get out and get a potential threat out, it would have been now.
