Brandon's Torch Walk Time to walk down memory lane and comment on the 17 torches of my fallen comrades!
20th place: Spencer Duhm / s17gabon
Spencer's name was the first name I wrote down on TC parchment in this game. I don't know what happened to him because usually he's pretty active and gets far in these games, but this game he just didn't make those first impressions on the others so he had to go to avoid any crazy conflict in our tribe so early in the game.
19th place: Joanna Ward / dannystultz
Joanna was another person that I figured would get far into the game just because of his reputation and her plethora of friends. Her being on Tambaqui I’m sure made everyone on Jaburu nervous. It’s sad that real life comes into play sometimes. It would have been a fun rivalry in the making if she had stayed.
18th place: Dave Johnson / saltidor
I’m not very familiar with Dave in this game or any other game… he probably wasn’t active and that’s why he was voted out? There’s gotta be some fodder sacrificed at the beginning of the game.
17th place: Brett Clouser / nelehrocks
I remember when Brett was a newbie in these games but he’s been around for so long and his name pops up everywhere that he really has come into his own over all these years. I expected him to get further but when your tribe is going to TC so often, you’re forced to play the game early and he was just on the wrong side of things.
16th place: Rob Cesternino / Cory the Spoiler Slayer
Oh, Rob! Why’d you get voted out? He was one of the stronger people on his tribe so I was surprised he were voted out, especially since they were losing so much… I thought his tribe would want to keep him around for your challenge strength. I was really excited to play with him at the merge, too!
15th place: Deena Bennett / Sambr23
If I remember correctly, at least from a cross-tribal perspective, Deena was one of the members of Tambaqui that kinda had a sour attitude from losing all the time and kept on making comments that I know pissed off a lot of Jaburu and kinda lit the flame under our asses even more. Thanks for that, Deena! Since she were so anti-Jaburu, I thought she would make the merge at least.
14th place: Charlie Herschel / Wasityou72
I was sad that Charlie was so inactive because I really wanted to play alongside him to the end or at least towards the end just based on my previous relationship with him. He got very lucky that Jaburu kept on winning and that the vote-off only sent him to the other tribe; otherwise, he would have been out so much earlier.
13th place: Jessica Smith / Jafet
I was really upset when she decided to quit. I really felt like we connected over the course of the game, and to just throw it all away to save your friend when everyone else was voting him out anyway… Way to be a leader for your tribe. It was like she was sabotaging our tribe so that there would be some sort of outcast that didn’t fit in for the merge and would rebel against us. I think she could have gotten far, for sure.
12th place: John Carroll / the submarine man
We didn’t talk a lot at all this game… maybe a little at the beginning and then again when he were in danger of getting voted out. I don’t really have any ill feelings towards him or him being voted off… it’s just the way the game had to go. He were on the outs and we needed a strong Jaburu going into the merge.
11th place: Ami Cusack / Vaelinarei
Sad casualty in the game for me. I really liked Ami a lot and I felt like her time was cut short. She should have been in the Final 6 with the rest of the Jaburus because she did help out in challenges a lot and was fun to talk to. I still don’t quite understand the craziness that went on that Tribal Council or the reasons for what had happened, but all I knew was that it was going to be a hard game without Ami still in the mix.
10th place: Christy Smith / Druid78
We didn’t really get a lot of time to connect and talk since we had just merged and we were on different tribes… the lines were super thick and fresh at that point that it would have been hard to talk about strategy with her. I wouldn’t have voted her out first from the Tambaqui side if it were up to me, but she was deemed a threat so she had to go.
9th place: Ryan Aiken / americanidolfan4life
I didn’t really get how he got so far when it seemed like he didn’t do anything in this game. Not once did I speak with him so I am kind of biased when I say that I’m shocked that he got as far as he did. My only impressions of Ryan in this game are of him complaining about Jaburu winning during the Tribal stage of the game, and just not being around. Maybe he was a main catalyst for the Tambaqui losing streak.
8th place: Shawna Mitchell / Monique 90210
It was clear that after Christy was voted off for being a threat, Shawna would follow her. I don’t even think Shawna was that big of a threat in this game, to be honest, but I think the mentality of Jaburu was to constantly get out the person who would most likely beat us in challenges. It’s a little disappointing because I’m a firm believer in bringing people further that you like and have potential to work with and that are active.
7th place: Heidi Strobel / retrocord
I wish Heidi and I had talked more with each other because I think Final 7 was the time when everything could have changed for Tambaqui. People were getting power hungry and I think Heidi and her fellow Tambaqui went about their target the wrong way. When Heidi was voted out, it was pretty much written in the stars that Tambaqui was as good as dead.
6th place: Jenna Morasca / survivormarc14
The last Tambaqui standing was Jenna… which I had not expected at all. I wish she would have put up more of a fight and searched for all her options because being an outcast, especially with only 5 people from the other tribe (and only three potential final spots), it sometimes works to your advantage and you could be the bottom of the totem pole’s guardian angel and sneak your way by at least one more round.
5th place: Shambo Waters / afraidofpanda
I can honestly say that when I think back on this game I will think of Shambo because she is probably one of the funniest, no bullshit people at FGC. We grew very close and I was sad to see her go at Final 5 because I had envisioned her making it to the end. Over the course of these months, we learned about each other and I’m happy to say that I made a new friend through Surv!vor: Amazon.
4th place: Todd Herzog / sizzling bikini
Todd was an excellent worker at the Jaburu camp. Even though Jessica was our leader, Todd was right behind her, trying to rally up the troops. In a game where there weren’t a lot of people online at a time, I was happy to connect with him early in the game and I’m glad that connection made it very far. It’s too bad we were on opposing sides these last votes, but as is usually the case: You gotta do what you gotta do.
Final 3: Brad Virata / MCrre4331 & JP Calderon / chillfactor7
It’s very amazing that a long time ago we had been talking about getting to the end. There was so much confidence in not only us three but I think everyone on Jaburu that it’s no surprise that the Final 3 is all from original Jaburu. Despite the recently rocky road to get to this point, we did make it to the end and we should be proud of ourselves. Some will say it wasn’t that hard because it was just a huge decimation in the Tribal challenges and then a near-complete pagonging in the merge, but what was going on behind closed curtains amongst the Jaburu members was probably more drama and paranoia than people know.
