Ep4_192

Jeff: C'mon in, guys!

Ep4_129

Jeff: Tribes, welcome to your first challenge of the season! I'm sure you're pumped, so let's get right to it. We are playing for !mmunity - the winning tribe will be safe from Tr!bal Council, whereas the losing tribe will be voting out one of their own. If you don't want the ignominy of being the first person voted out of this season, you're going to want to play hard.

!MMUNITY CHALLENGE #01
UNCHAINED

In a nutshell: This challenge is an obstacle course where all 10 tribe members will start out in a chain. You will run from obstacle to obstacle, and at every obstacle you will get to unshackle 2 team mates. Those 2 team mates must complete their portion of the challenge before the rest of the tribe can move on without them. At the end when all tribemembers are unshackled, 1 team member must open the gate to allow the rest of the tribe to start lighting torches. The tribe with more torches at the end of 48 hours wins.

Moving as a shackled tribe

Post in tribal color:
[Tribe] runs [10, 20, 30, 40, ...] yards along the obstacle course

Each person of the tribe must wait a minimum of a full 60 minutes before they can make another post.
If their Running stat is above 100, they can wait at least 50 minutes.
If their Running stat is below 100, they must wait at least 70 minutes.

The tribe must run 100 yards (10 posts) before they reach the first station.

Any tribemember in the chain can then post in tribal color:
[Tribe] unclips [Castaway A] and [Castaway B] for the 1st obstacle

Obstacle 1: Tangle of wooden stakes

Post in tribal color:
[Castaway A] from [Tribe] navigates through wooden stakes
[Castaway B] from [Tribe] navigates through wooden stakes
[Castaway A] from [Tribe] navigates through wooden stakes
[Castaway B] from [Tribe] navigates through wooden stakes
[Castaway A] from [Tribe] navigates through wooden stakes
[Castaway B] from [Tribe] navigates through wooden stakes
[Castaway A] from [Tribe] navigates through wooden stakes
[Castaway B] from [Tribe] navigates through wooden stakes
[Castaway A] from [Tribe] navigates through wooden stakes
[Castaway B] from [Tribe] navigates through wooden stakes

Castaways A and B must alternate posting and waiting, for a total of 10 posts (5 sets).
If their combined Dexterity stat is at 200, they must wait at least 5 minutes in between each post.
If their combined Dexterity stat is above 200, they can wait at least 4 minutes in between each post.
If their Dexterity stat is below 200, they must wait at least 6 minutes in between each post.

Moving as a shackled tribe

The exact same rules apply here as in the previous part. The next obstacle is located 100 yards away from the last obstacle.

However, note that Castaways A and B who last participated in the first obstacle are no longer allowed to participate until the torch-lighting segment at the very end of the challenge.

Any tribemember in the chain can then post in tribal color:
[Tribe] unclips [Castaway C] and [Castaway D] for the 2nd obstacle

Obstacle 2: Wading through the river

Post in tribal color:
[Castaway C] from [Tribe] wades through the river
[Castaway D] from [Tribe] wades through the river
[Castaway C] from [Tribe] wades through the river
[Castaway D] from [Tribe] wades through the river
[Castaway C] from [Tribe] wades through the river
[Castaway D] from [Tribe] wades through the river
[Castaway C] from [Tribe] wades through the river
[Castaway D] from [Tribe] wades through the river

Castaways A and B must alternate posting and waiting, for a total of 8 posts (4 sets).
If their combined Swimming stat is at 200, they must wait at least 7 minutes in between each post.
If their combined Swimming stat is above 200, they can wait at least 6 minutes in between each post.
If their Swimming stat is below 200, they must wait at least 8 minutes in between each post.

Moving as a shackled tribe

The next obstacle is also located 100 yards away. Only 6 tribemembers are left to push the tribe forward.

Any tribemember in the chain can then post in tribal color:
[Tribe] unclips [Castaway E] and [Castaway F] for the 3rd obstacle

Obstacle 3: Brain teaser

Post in tribal color:
[Castaway E] from [Tribe] attempts to solve the puzzle
*wait exactly x minutes*
[Castaway F] from [Tribe] solves the puzzle

x is an unknown number which you must find out.
x can be found by first deriving the number of letters in the last name of the castaway (his representative) who won the last season of Surv!vor, divided by the number of letters in the last name of the first Surv!vor winner (his representative). Multiply the outcome by 7, and then divide it by 4 to get a remainder. This remainder should be multiplied by a number which is three more than the number of days in a week, and the result of this should be added to the number of days in CBS Survivor: The Amazon. To obtain the final value of x, add both castaways' combined Intelligence stat together, divide by 20, round up to the nearest whole number, and add the previous step's number result to that.

Failure to wait the correct amount of time will result in 10 torches deducted from the overall torch tally, which is a very high price to pay.

Moving as a shackled tribe

The next obstacle is located 80 yards away. Only 4 tribemembers are left to push the tribe forward.

Any tribemember in the chain can then post in tribal color:
[Tribe] unclips [Castaway G] and [Castaway H] for the 4th obstacle

Obstacle 4: Cargo net

Post in tribal color:
[Castaway G] from [Tribe] runs up the cargo net
[Castaway H] from [Tribe] runs up the cargo net
[Castaway G] from [Tribe] pulls self up the cargo net
[Castaway H] from [Tribe] pulls self up the cargo net
[Castaway G] from [Tribe] grabs flag at the top
[Castaway H] from [Tribe grabs flag at the top
[Castaway G] from [Tribe] climbs down the cargo net
[Castaway H] from [Tribe] climbs down the cargo net
[Castaway G] from [Tribe] runs down the cargo net
[Castaway H] from [Tribe] runs down the cargo net

Castaways G and H must alternate posting and waiting, for a total of 10 posts (5 sets).
They must wait at least 5 minutes in between each post.

If their combined Strength stat is above 200, they can deduct 2 minutes of waiting from their minimum time.
If their Strength stat is below 200, they must add 2 minutes of waiting to their minimum time.

If their combined Dexterity stat is above 215, they can deduct 1 minute of waiting from their minimum time.
If their combined Dexterity stat is below 200, they must add 1 minute of waiting to their minimum time.

If their combined Strength stat is above 215, they can deduct 1 minute of waiting from their minimum time.
If their combined Strength stat is below 200, they must add 1 minute of waiting to their minimum time.

Note that all of these bonuses and penalties are additive.

Moving as a shackled tribe

The next obstacle is located 50 yards away. Only 2 tribemembers are left to push the tribe forward.

Any tribemember in the chain can then post in tribal color:
[Tribe] unclips [Castaway I] and [Castaway J] for the final obstacle

Post in tribal color:
[Castaway I] from [Tribe] zips down the flying fox
*wait exactly 15 minutes*
[Castaway I] from [Tribe] grabs the key on the way down
*wait at least 15 minutes*
[Castaway I] from [Tribe] lands and passes the key to [Castaway J]
[Castaway J] from [Tribe] unlocks the gate to let the other tribe members through

Note that the first 15 minutes must be exact, otherwise you will miss grabbing the key and have to backtrack and go down the flying fox again.

Lighting torches

Post in tribal color:
[Castaway] from [Tribe] lights the [1st, 2nd, 3rd, ...] torch

Only at this part, can tribemembers who have completed previous sections participate again.

Each castaway must wait at least 60 minutes before lighting another torch.

The tribe with more torches after 48 hours will win !mmunity and be safe from the vote.
If neither tribe has unlocked the gate before the 48 hours are up, then the first tribe to light 1 torch wins !mmunity. They will need to light 11 torches if they did not do the Brainteaser correctly.
